Laval, QC @ Place Bell

At Place Bell, the audience was a mix of longtime devotees and curious newcomers, but the moment Fender and his band took the stage, the room felt united. The energy leaned more toward collective connection than chaotic frenzy—fans swayed, sang along, and erupted with cheers during the big moments.

Fender centered the night on People Watching, mixing in older favourites like “Hypersonic Missiles” and the tongue-in-cheek “Howdon Aldi Death Queue” (which he warned with, “this is the most stupid song I’ve ever written”).

Even on such a large stage, he hasn’t let go of that “small-room confession” intimacy that defines his performances.
