The start of summer in Montreal is always noted by the start of Montreal’s Jazz Festival. Celebrating its 45th edition, the festival is welcoming over 300 artists and bands to Place Des Arts for ten days of music, food, and good vibes. Here is our list of shows that shouldn’t be missed this year:
Thundercat
July 1st, 7:30pm @ Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier.
Known for his R&B gems and collaborations with the likings of Tame Impala and Anderson Paak., Thundercat will be headlining Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier on July 1st.
Men I Trust
July 2nd, 9:30pm @ TD Stage.
Off of a high of their new album, Montreal’s smooth indie trio will take over Jazz Fest’s main stage by storm.
Ayra Starr
July 1st, 9:30pm @ TD Stage.
Montreal will be feeling the heat of Benin Republic with Ayra Starr’s rhythmic songs when she takes over the main stage.
PJ Morton
June 29th, 9:30pm @ TD Stage
The multi-talented artist PJ Morton will be playing on the big TD Stage, performing songs from his chart topping discography.
Katie Tupper
July 5th, 5:00pm @ TD Stage.
The soulful voice and presence of Saskatoon’s bred Katie Tupper will be on TD Stage on July 5th. You’ll fall in love with her voice.
The Budos Band / Secret Chiefs 3
June 28th, 8:30pm @ MTELUS.
Jazz/rock groups The Budos Band and Secret Chiefs 3 are teaming up to create a night of music jamming.
Clown Core
June 26th, 8:30pm @ MTELUS.
Experimental jazz group Clown Core will be performing at MTELUS, playing songs from their newest albumVan and older ones.
